On Wednesday, January 10th, Jeff Kaphengst and Scott Lewis went to the Capitol to testify in favor of the Employment First Bill, along with representatives from the A-Teams of Wisconsin and many more. A crowd of 70+ people came to show support for the bill. Jeff submitted testimony on behalf of DSPN, supporting the bill, but raised concerns about the MCOs and ICAs arbitrarily time limiting prevocational services in order to express that these actions are dramatically limiting opportunities for people with disabilities. This concern was reiterated by the A-Teams, as well as a few others who were testifying in favor of the bill. Both the Senate and Assembly agreed that steps would be taken to ensure that this concern is addressed in the bill, with little room for second-hand interpretation.
